John Gorecki is a senior music education major at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.  In addition to his studies, John lives in Decatur and works (and designs) for Coffee Connection, a locally-owned coffee house, and is an active musician in the Central Illinois area.  In summer 2010, John held the position of Principal Clarinet of the Urbana Pops Orchestra (Urbana, IL) and was an active reed player in the Little Theatre on the Square (Sullivan, IL) pit orchestra.

During the academic year, John was student conductor for Millikin's University Concert Band and also worked with local school ensembles such as Macarthur High School and St. Patrick's School.  He has also conducted the Elk Grove Village 4th of July Community Band and the Greater Decatur Youth Band.  On campus, John performs in a variety of ensembles such as the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble I, Advanced Combo, and the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra.
