 About the Enclave

The Enclave is a group of student organizations devoted to the study of martial arts, including the Japanese art of Aikido.  Aikido's purpose is to:

  • Mold the mind and body

  • Cultivate a vigorous spirit

  • Strive for the improvement of our art

  • Hold in esteem human courtesy and honor

  • Associate with others with sincerity

  • Forever pursue the cultivation of oneself

Members meet at the Old Gym in classes held each week to further their skills.  Classes are open to all, but membership is limited to Millikin students who complete the process described below.

If you have questions, please contact one of our officers (right).

 Become a Member

Membership in the Enclave is more than showing up to class - it requires that a prospective member first express a desire to learn one of the martial arts taught by the Enclave.  They must then apply to become a member, which includes an interview and personal narrative.

Full details on the membership process are outlined in our Constitution.  If you would like to become a member, consider attending a few classes or contact Daniel Southerland.
